LAHORE: The long-stalled project of the Fatima Jinnah Institute of Dental Sciences in Jubilee Town, which had faced a 20-year hiatus, is now on the verge of completion and is anticipated to be inaugurated soon.

Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, during his recent visit to the institute, inspected the finishing work and ordered expedited completion of the remaining tasks.

Naqvi also issued directions for transforming the institute's backyard, currently occupied by bushes, into a lawn within a deadline of 7 days.

He inspected the medical equipment lying there and ordered its prompt installation. The under-construction hostel was scrutinized, with instructions to create a lawn in the adjacent vacant area.

During the visit, the secretaries of health and C&W gave a briefing on the project's progress. They informed the CM that 30 units for dental treatment have already been delivered to the institute, and an additional 20 units are expected to be provided soon.

Provincial Minister for Specialized Health Care & Medical Education, Dr Javed Akram was also present during the visit.
