KARACHI: The Department of Prosthodontics at Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM) organized a veneer preparation workshop aimed at strengthening clinical competencies in esthetic and restorative dentistry among dental professionals and trainees.

The workshop brought together participants from AIDM and other institutions and combined academic instruction with practical training focused on modern veneer preparation techniques. The activity was designed to enhance understanding of minimally invasive esthetic procedures and improve hands-on clinical skills relevant to contemporary dental practice.

The academic session was led by Prof. Naseer Ahmed, who discussed key principles of veneer restorations, including indications, limitations, case selection, and treatment planning. He emphasized the importance of preserving tooth structure while achieving predictable functional and esthetic outcomes.

Following the lecture, participants engaged in supervised practical training conducted by faculty members including Dr. Tooba, Dr. Wajiha, Dr. Shujah Adil Khan, and Dr. Ibrahim. Attendees practiced veneer preparation techniques on typodont models under direct guidance, focusing on precision, preparation design, and proper instrument handling.

Organizers highlighted the importance of continuing professional development activities in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and clinical application. They noted that such workshops help dental practitioners stay updated with evolving techniques, materials, and evidence-based approaches in esthetic dentistry.

The institute reiterated its commitment to promoting lifelong learning and advancing clinical training standards in line with global developments in restorative and cosmetic dentistry.
