BUMDC students wins global research contest

KARACHI- Third-year BDS students of Bahria University Medical and Dental College – Affaf Fatima and Anum Hira – got third position in the 5th Virtual World Congress of Dental Students organized by Croatia on May 15.

A project of National Dental Students’ Association in Croatia – Udrugastudenatadentalne medicine, was a 3-day teleconference in which people from around the world presented e-oral presentations on their researches. The presentations were categorized on post-graduate and under-graduate levels. There were 11 undergraduate papers belonging to different countries, including Pakistan, Macedonia, Lithuania, Turkey, Romania, Russia, Slovakia and India.

Affaf Fatima represented Pakistan on this forum. She presented her research on ‘Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) and its Mitigation through AnchorErgonomics’ and won third prize. Many Pakistanis in the virtual conference room supported her and acknowledged her presentation skills.

As a winning token, these students from BUMDC will get a cash award worth 100 Euros and their research will be published in IDJSR, International Dental Journal of Students’ Research.

BUMDC’s dental section motivates students to undertake research projects in their professional years to foster a passion of excellence in their fields of specialty and build a successful research career in future, says a press release.-PR
