Dental students get creative: Win PKR 10,000 in PIMA's myth-busting video contest

KARACHI: Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) Dentistry Branch has announced an exciting Video Making Contest exclusively for dental students and house officers. Themed around "Dental Myths Busted," this unique competition aims to promote awareness by debunking common dental misconceptions using creativity and factual content.

Participants have until February 15, 2025, to submit their entries. Videos should be between 2 to 3 minutes in duration, showcasing content through animations, live-action, infographics, or other engaging visual formats. A cash prize of PKR 10,000 awaits the winner, whose video will be featured on PIMA’s official platforms, bringing national recognition to their talent and efforts.

In an official statement, Dr. Sidra Ejaz, General Secretary of PIMA Women Wing, emphasized the importance of this initiative:
"Myths about oral health contribute to poor dental hygiene practices. We want students to creatively dispel these myths and share correct knowledge with the public. This contest is a fantastic platform to highlight their creativity and contribute to better oral health awareness."
