The Federation Dentaire Internationale (FDI), a globally recognized membership federation dedicated to advancing optimal oral health, has announced its new organizational strategy for the period 2024-2027, focusing on making quality services accessible to underserved communities. This strategic roadmap, unanimously approved by the General Assembly during the World Dental Congress in September 2023, charts a course for FDI as it continues its mission to deliver optimal oral health for all.

With a longstanding commitment to ensuring global oral health, FDI collaborates closely with its diverse membership base to introduce positive change within the oral healthcare sector. The organization's approach centers on promoting best practices through effective knowledge exchange initiatives, global advocacy efforts, and capacity-building programmes.

The FDI Strategy for 2024-2027, endorsed at the World Dental Congress, mirrors the organization's dedication to navigating the ever-evolving global health and development scenarios, outlining its key objectives and initiatives for the upcoming years, focusing on crucial areas.

As per the new strategy, FDI aims to diminish disparities in oral health access and outcomes by advocating for policies and practices that prioritize underserved communities.

The organization is dedicated to enhancing dental education worldwide, ensuring that dental professionals receive the latest knowledge and skills to provide high-quality care.

FDI will persist as a leading voice in advocating for oral health on the international stage, collaborating with governments and organizations to prioritize oral health in public health agendas.

It will actively support and promote research and innovation in oral healthcare to address emerging challenges and opportunities.

FDI's capacity-building initiatives will empower oral health professionals, organizations, and communities to improve oral health on a local and global scale.

The approval of the 2024-2027 Strategy at the World Dental Congress marks a significant milestone for FDI, says its spokesperson, adding that this strategy underscores the organization’s commitment to improving oral health globally and outlines a clear path for it to make a lasting impact in the years to come.

FDI extends an invitation to dental professionals, organizations, and stakeholders worldwide to join hands in implementing this visionary strategy and working towards a world where optimal oral health is accessible to all.
