KARACHI: The Pakistan Dental Association (PDA) Karachi has called for clarity on operational matters and swift approval of the new PDA constitution, emphasizing its significance for effective governance and future elections.

According to reliable sources, PDA Karachi’s General Secretary Dr. Feroz Jahangir has approached PDA Central Council President Dr. Khurshid Ahmed, seeking guidance on governance and financial autonomy to ensure smooth functioning at the branch level.

The letter outlines seek clarification about the status of constitution and working of branches. The procedure to organize events by the branch and most importantly guidance on handling funds for events and conferences, given the lack of a dedicated PDA Karachi bank account.

Sources indicate that the current PDA leadership is acting as a guardian body, tasked with reviving the association, restoring trust within the dental community, drafting a robust new constitution, and paving the way for future elections. The goal is to hand over a well-structured and autonomous PDA to the newly elected leadership in the coming term.

A Step Towards Strengthening PDA’s Future

The dental community views this as a critical moment for PDA’s governance and credibility. While procedural delays persist, experts believe a transparent and well-defined constitution will empower regional chapters, ensuring a stronger and more efficient PDA nationwide.

As discussions continue, stakeholders are eagerly awaiting the PDA Central Council’s response to address these fundamental governance issues.
