ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Dental Association (PDA) has announced an exclusive opportunity for young dentists to showcase their expertise at the Young Dentists Forum during the FDI Congress 2025, set to take place in Shanghai this September. This prestigious platform allows early-career dental professionals to present their innovative ideas and clinical expertise on a global stage.

Speaking to Dental News Pakistan about the initiative, Dr. Awab Alvi, the National Liaison Officer (NLO) of PDA for international affairs, stated:

“This is an incredible chance for young dentists from Pakistan to gain international recognition. With only two global slots available, we encourage talented candidates to submit their applications immediately.”

A Global Stage for Young Dental Professionals

The FDI World Dental Federation has launched a competitive selection process to identify two dynamic young dentists from around the world. Each country’s dental association can nominate only one candidate, making the selection highly competitive. From a maximum of 20 applications, only the top two presenters will be chosen to deliver their lectures at the prestigious FDI Congress 2025.

Eligibility Criteria & Application Process

The PDA has outlined the following eligibility requirements for interested candidates:

✅ Must have completed basic dental education within the last 10 years.
✅ Presentation topics should be related to clinical dentistry or practice management (Public health topics are not eligible).

Required Documents for Submission

Applicants must submit the following:

  1. A CV, highlighting any previous speaking experience.
  2. A recent photograph.
  3. A lecture proposal, including an abstract and three learning objectives.
  4. A 15-minute video of the proposed lecture presentation.

Selection Criteria

The FDI Education Committee will evaluate submissions based on:

  1. Relevance to clinical practice
  2. Scientific accuracy and evidence-based approach
  3. Quality of presentation (audio-visual and delivery skills)
  4. Fluency in English and ability to engage an audience

Dr. Khurshid Ahmed, President of the Pakistan Dental Association Central Council, emphasized the importance of this opportunity, stating:

“Young dentists are the future of the profession. This platform allows them to gain international exposure, build professional networks, and establish themselves as thought leaders in dentistry.”

Deadline & Urgent Call for Applications

The final submission deadline at FDI is March 15, 2025, but only 20 applications will be accepted globally—once the slots are filled, no further entries will be considered.

Interested young dentists from Pakistan must submit their applications as soon as possible to: NLO@pda.org.pk. The Pakistan Dental Association will review applications and forward only the strongest candidates to FDI for final selection.

A Gateway to International Recognition

This is a rare and prestigious opportunity for young Pakistani dentists to represent their country on a global platform. Those selected will gain unmatched exposure, the chance to network with world-class dental experts, and an opportunity to advance their careers on an international level.
