KARACHI – Sindh health department’s Karachi chapter has prepared a contingency plan for the ensuing monsoon rains.
Under the contingency plan, chalked out on the directives of provincial secretary health Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo, an emergency centre has already been set up at Civic Center to tackle the situation that might arise in the wake monsoon rains as well as to provide relief to general public.
According to the city’s executive district health officer, Dr Zafar Ejaz, all Town Health Officers (THOs) of the city have been directed to set up rain emergency centres in their respective towns so that in case of an emergency first aid could be provided to citizens in nearby hospitals before shifting them to any major hospital.
He said that all necessary arrangements are being made to prevent people from becoming victims of the diseases which normally spread in the aftermath of rains.
