PADR is the Pakistani section of International Association of Dental Research (IADR). It has a long history of organizing academic events to promote the trend of research in the young and upcoming dental professionals.

The 5^th Annual Conference of Pak Association for Dental Research (PADR) was held from October 12^th to 14^th at the Institute of Dentistry, CMH Lahore Medical College. PADR is the Pakistani section of International Association of Dental Research (IADR). It has a long history of organizing academic events to promote the trend of research in the young and upcoming dental professionals.

More than a hundred scientific abstracts were received, out of which the IADR Review Board selected 50 abstracts for the poster competition. 18 abstracts were presented in the Unilever Hatton Award oral presentation competition. The winner of Unilever Hatton Award competition received a fully sponsored trip to the 2019 IADR general session that will be held in Vancouver Canada. 14 of the remaining abstracts were presented as free papers based on original research, case reports and systematic literature reviews.

International speakers from England, Spain, Turkey and Saudi Arabia conducted scientific sessions in their respective specialties. 34 national speakers from all over the country gave interactive lectures. A few of these speakers, both international and national were involved in facilitation of seven hands-on workshops that took place pre- and post-conference at Institute of Dentistry, CMH Lahore Medical College.

A highly professional and versatile show was put on by Dental Trade Exhibition, which not only flourished their business but also helped the dental community to make themselves familiar with modern materials and technologies. This interactive activity provided a huge opportunity to project local research on an international forum.
