KARACHI: With a view to promote oral health in an inclusive way, the Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM) recently organised an oral health screening event – ‘Special Smiles’— for the athletes associated with the Special Olympics.
The inaugural screening session took place at the AIDM, marking the commencement of a transformative four-month initiative poised to benefit 200 special athletes.
This endeavor was made possible by the collaborative efforts of Prof Dr Hasnain Sakrani, Prof Dr Dinaz Ghandhi, Mrs Asma Hasan, Prof Dr Naseer Ahmed, and Dr Resham Nadeem. Their collective expertise and commitment to enhancing the well-being of individuals with unique needs were evident throughout the event.
Supported by a dedicated team of house surgeons and postgraduate students, this initiative at AIDM underscores the institution's dedication to a healthier and more inclusive community through accessible oral healthcare for all.
