He was speaking to newsmen along with Aman Healthcare Services’ chief executive officer Dr Saadia Quraishy and Shehryar Ahmed at Aman-Ambulance Headquarters.
According to Athar Jamal, Aman-Ambulance service, under an agreement with Sindh government, would be made operational in Thatta and Sujawal districts while the service will be extended to other parts of the province in different phases in the next five years.
He told newsmen that around 4,000 emergencies take place across Karachi daily and of them 1,000 to 1,200 emergencies are considered life-threatening if these victims failed to get quality treatment within hour.
About Aman Ambulance service, he said that currently 80 ambulances equipped with state-of-the-art treatment facilities to deal emergency cases are operating across the city.
“Qualified doctors, skilled paramedical staff and nurses of Aman Health Foundation always remain alert to provide treatment facilities to emergencies victims by moving them in hospitals through ambulances,” he said, adding that Aman Emergency Medical Services has, so far, recorded more than 580,000 interventions of which 80 per cent were for life-saving.
