KARACHI- Sindh chief minister’s coordinator for Human Rights, Nadia Gabol, has criticized the K-Electric administration for not curtailing the duration of loadshedding although the Met Office has forecast harsh weather for the city.
She also urged the federal government to fulfill its constitutional obligations towards Sindh.
She was talking to media persons during her visit to Civil Hospital Karachi. Sindh health department’s special secretary Riaz Memon and other officials were also present on the occasion.
Ms Gabol visited different wards of the CHK and inquired after the health of heatstroke patients.
CHK’s additional medical superintendent Dr Qadir Siddiqui briefed her about the treatment and other measures taken by the hospital for the speedy recovery of heatstroke patients.
She regretted that the recent heatwave that gripped the entire Sindh, especially Karachi, had taken a heavy toll.
She said that the number of heatstroke patients in public sector hospitals has dropped considerably and hoped that the situation will improve further in the days ahead.
Accusing the federal government of meeting out step-motherly treatment to Sindh, she urged the government to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the province.
