QUETTA: Steps will be taken to enhance coordination between trauma center and the maxillofacial surgery departments of different healthcare facilities in Quetta to improve emergency response and surgical care for the patients involved in accidents and other critical situations.
This was decided in a meeting where Dr. Arbab Kamran Khan Kasi, President of YDA Balochistan, along with Dr. Bihar Khan Shah, Principal of Dental College Quetta, and Vice Principal Prof Dr. Nasrullah Mengal, met with prominent medical figures including Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sial, Prof Mirza Khan Tareen, former Dean and president of Balochistan University of Medical and Health Sciences, Prof Dr. Asma Opal, head of the Maxillofacial Unit at Bolan Medical Complex Hospital Quetta, and Prof Dr. Jahangir Hammad Baloch, Chief Dental Surgeon and Registrar at the Maxillofacial Surgery Department, Civil Hospital Quetta.
The meeting was facilitated by Dr. Waseem Uz Zaman and Dr. Nahmeed Khan Kakar.
The collaboration ensures 24/7 consultation and coordination between the trauma center staff and the maxillofacial surgery teams, through changes in duty schedules of trainees and post-graduates.
