KARACHI: In a commendable initiative to promote oral health awareness, the Department of Community Dentistry at Dow Dental College (DDC), along with third-year BDS students, successfully conducted a free dental camp at Raana Liaquat Public School (RLPS) in Karachi’s Raana Liaquat Craftsman Colony. The event, held on 30th January 2025, aimed to provide essential dental care and education to young students, fostering lifelong healthy habits.
The camp, supervised by Dr. Muhammad Taqi and Dr. Adnan, featured interactive sessions that engaged over 300 students. Through captivating presentations and hands-on activities, children learned proper brushing and flossing techniques while gaining valuable insights into maintaining optimal oral hygiene.
Free dental check-ups conducted during the event addressed existing dental concerns and offered personalized guidance to each student. The initiative received enthusiastic appreciation from both students and staff. Dr. Hira Warsi, a representative from RLPS, expressed her gratitude, stating, "We are thrilled to collaborate with DDC on this important endeavor. The knowledge and care provided during this event will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on our students and their families."
As part of their commitment to community service, Dow Dental College’s Community Dentistry Department plans to expand this collaboration to reach more schools across Karachi. Their shared mission is to ensure every child receives essential health education and resources needed to maintain good oral hygiene, fostering long-term health and well-being.
