KARACHI: The Fatima Jinnah Dental College (FJDC) celebrated World Health Week to raise awareness about health and wellness with a special focus on promoting a healthy lifestyle, educating people about the importance of good health and well-being, and encouraging individuals to take action to improve their health.

One of the essential aspects of the week-long celebrations was the awareness sessions conducted by FJDC CEO Dr Hussain Askary to educate students, faculty, and patients about the importance of health and how to access healthcare easily. This is a critical aspect of healthcare because many individuals may not be aware of the significance of seeking medical attention when required.

In addition to the awareness sessions, FJDC used social media platforms to launch an online campaign that provided tips on various aspects of life that could lead to a healthier lifestyle.

The campaign covering topics including maintaining a healthy diet, getting enough sleep, exercising, managing mental health, and practicing meditation was well-received and engaged many followers, highlighting the importance of using social media platforms for health education.

FJDC also organised free medical camps at the Azam Town General Hospital, providing essential medical services to individuals from neighbouring areas, including checkups on blood sugar levels and blood pressure, estimation of body mass index, administration of vaccination and immunization, and a free clinic for women.
This was an excellent initiative by FJDC and the hospital to provide essential healthcare services to individuals who may not have had access to them otherwise.
FJDC's efforts to educate and provide medical services to individuals through various initiatives during World Health Week are commendable and must continue to ensure that everyone has access to good health and well-being.
