LAHORE: The Institute of Advanced Dental Sciences and Research (IADSR) recently held a one-day workshop on dental implants for general practitioners as part of the curriculum for IADSR's 17th Professional Diploma in Advanced General Dentistry (PDAGD).
The workshop was led by Prof. Dr. Amin-ur-Rahman, a faculty member from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Dr. Amin-ur-Rahman provided participants with an overview of dental implants, covering the historical context, types of implants, and materials used.
He also discussed the relationship between alveolar bone, teeth, and implants, while outlining key procedures for implant placement.
The workshop emphasized the importance of communication and planning for successful implant procedures.
The participants also had hands-on practice using typodont models, receiving personalized guidance from Dr. Amin's team.
The workshop ended on a positive note, with participants expressing satisfaction with the training.
