ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Association of Dental Students (PADS) Annual Congress 2025 officially kickstarted today at National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, setting the stage for two days of scientific exploration, innovation, and professional growth in the field of dentistry. The event gathered over 600 dental students, professionals, and experts from across Pakistan, uniting under one roof to learn, collaborate, and celebrate the evolving landscape of dental education and technology.
The day began with registrations and an inaugural ceremony that energized participants and established a vibrant tone for the congress.
Scientific sessions that inspire and innovate
Following the inauguration, participants will immerse themselves in a series of scientific and interactive sessions designed to foster skill development and innovation:
- Dr Asfand Ali Khan's session on Precision In Endodontics, offering insights into the latest techniques and technologies enhancing clinical precision.
- Dr Yasir Israr's lecture on Digital Orthodontics & 3D Printing, highlighting how digital transformation is revolutionizing orthodontic practice.
- Dr Haris Ghole is leading the Exchange Fair Session, guiding students through The Dentist’s Roadmap: Career, Clinics, And Credentials, providing invaluable direction for young professionals planning their career paths.
Engaging workshops and parallel sessions
The afternoon featured an Exciting lineup of parallel workshops and discussions will feature in the afternoon sessions tailored to students’ academic and professional interests.
- The Aligner Revolution by Dr Waheen Haider (Clearpath) will explore the evolution of clear aligner technology in modern orthodontics.
- AI In Dentistry conducted by Moaz Amjad and Dr Baryal Khan (AI Dentify) introduces participants to cutting-edge artificial intelligence applications in diagnostics and treatment planning.
- A Career Counselling Session led by Prof. Dr Javed Ashraf and Dr Asif Qureshi offeres strategic advice on academic progression, specialization, and future opportunities in dentistry.
Competitions and celebrations
In the evening, energy will soar with the much-anticipated Dental Olympics, coordinated by Dr Rubab Zahra and Dr Syeda Urooj Fatima. The event tests participants’ skills, teamwork, and creativity in a fun yet competitive spirit.
