KARACHI- PepsiCo Pakistan has launched a heatwave and dehydration relief programme in Karachi to provide support against the heatwave that has claimed over 1300 deaths.

In the first phase of campaign, PepsiCo donated 2,400 water bottles to the city’s Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, Patel Hospital and Medicare Hospital, while in the second phase, heatstroke prevention and hydration kits (consisting of water bottles and ORS sachets), manufactured by credible organizations, will be distributed.

PepsiCo is targeting to distribute 100,000 water bottles under this programme. This relief drive is another CSR initiative by PepsiCo in recent times, to help the affected people of Pakistan following success of its live programmes held to lighten up and uplift the lives of less fortunate people by installing safe, environment-friendly and sustainable solar bulbs in refugee camps.

Pakistan & Afghanistan’s VP & GM PepsiCo, Jahanzeb Khan, commenting on this initiative, said: “We want to help out in this difficult time through all possible channels, credible organizations, hospitals and by launching our dedicated relief & hydration programme. As PepsiCo, we are deeply committed to improve and contribute to the community we operate in, and we hope our efforts will bring relief from this serious issue.”
