In a press release issued by Shield Corporation Pakistan, Shield Corporation has announced that Shield will be celebrating the World Oral Health 2015 with the Pakistan Association in Pakistan.
March 20th is celebrated every year globally as "World Oral Health Day" under the umbrella of the World Dental Federation (FDI), to raise awareness about oral health and how to prevent diseases that can be fatal. World Oral Health Day offers the dental and oral health community a platform for action to help reduce the global oral disease burden The theme for World Oral Health Day 2015 is "Smile for Life".
According to Pakistan Dental Association (PDA); almost 90% of all dental disease go untreated. Almost every Pakistan has or will suffer from oral disease in their lifetime, ranging from gum disease and tooth decay to oral caner. Only 20% of country's population enjoys access to oral healthcare; 50% of school children have dental caries and Oral Cancer is the second most common cancer in the country.
In Pakistan, Shield Pakistan Ltd. has been working in the oral care category for over 30 years. Just like previous years, Shield has joined hands with FDI and PDA to highlight importance of oral hygiene by setting up free dental camps across Pakistan in collaboration with Dental Tribune Pakistan and Dental News in order to facilitate people and educated them. Shield is committed to undertake and participate in all activates to bring about positive changes in the oral health for the population of Pakistan.
