KARACHI: Fatima Jinnah Dental College (FJDC) continues to position itself as a leader in modern dental education by hosting an advanced simulation-based dental education workshop for its faculty recently. Organized by the professional development centre (PDC) in collaboration with the department of medical education (DME), the session brought together senior and junior faculty members from the clinical campus for a comprehensive learning experience rooted in global best practices.

Led by Dr. Saima Ali, MBBS, FCPS, MHPE, PHD (HPE)—a respected authority in simulation training—the workshop focused on the evolving role of simulation, contemporary educational methodologies, and the systemic challenges shaping medical and dental training in Pakistan. Her dynamic teaching approach, enriched with real-world scenarios and evidence-based frameworks, ensured an interactive and intellectually engaging environment for participants.

The presence of the chief executive officer, principal, and faculty from clinical and non-clinical departments underscored the college’s strong culture of collaboration and academic unity. The workshop was meticulously coordinated by Dr. Talal Bin Taheer (Head, DME) and Dr. Faryal Abdullah, whose leadership contributed to a seamless and impactful academic experience.

A progressive step in faculty development

This initiative represents more than a single-day academic activity; it reflects FJDC’s long-term commitment to elevating educational standards and empowering faculty through structured, high-quality professional development. By incorporating simulation-based training—an emerging global benchmark in healthcare education—FJDC continues to enhance its teaching methodologies, improve competency-based learning, and strengthen the training of future dental professionals.

The institution’s ongoing dedication to academic innovation, faculty capacity building, and evidence-based pedagogy positions it at the forefront of dental education in Pakistan. Additional transformative workshops and development programs are already planned, reaffirming FJDC’s mission to foster continuous improvement and shape a resilient, future-ready dental workforce.
