KARACHI: A delegation of the Young Doctors Association (YDA) Sindh, led by Dr. Mehboob Noonari, Chairman YDA Sindh, called on Dr. Zubair, Director of the Anti-Quackery Department at the Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) to extend their full support in the ongoing crackdown against illegal medical practices across the province.
During the meeting, the YDA Sindh delegation congratulated Dr. Zubair on his appointment and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening healthcare regulations by working closely with SHCC. They highlighted the escalating public health crisis linked to unlicensed medical practitioners, citing a surge in cases of Hepatitis, HIV, and other infectious diseases in Sindh due to unsafe medical practices.
Dr. Zubair welcomed YDA’s support and stressed the need for a coordinated effort between regulatory authorities and medical professionals to eliminate quackery. He reaffirmed his department’s determination to take strict legal action against illegal clinics, unqualified practitioners, and substandard healthcare facilities operating in Sindh.
The YDA delegation, which included Dr. Rana Dildar, Vice President YDA Sindh, and Dr. Muhammad Ali, Spokesperson YDA JPMC, pledged their assistance in reporting and identifying illegal medical setups and raising awareness among patients about the dangers of unregulated treatments.
Both parties agreed on the need for:
✅ Tighter enforcement of healthcare laws to shut down unauthorized medical facilities.
✅ Raising public awareness about the health risks posed by quacks and unlicensed practitioners.
✅ Strengthening collaboration between SHCC and YDA to ensure ethical medical practices.
✅ Encouraging medical professionals to support SHCC’s regulatory efforts.
This meeting marks a major step forward in the fight against quackery in Sindh, ensuring better healthcare standards and greater patient safety. YDA Sindh and SHCC vowed to continue their joint efforts to eradicate unlicensed medical practices and protect the integrity of the healthcare system.
