Larkana: As many as 298 HIV/AIDS positive patients which include 237 male, 57 female, two children and 26 eunuchs, were detected and registered during 2015 at the HIV/AIDS Treatment & Care Centre, Larkana.
According to a report, 97 HIV/AIDS affected patients have, so far, died between 2007 and 2015.
The report further said that 96 couples registered at the centre are on Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART), while 79 have also been found suffering from hepatitis C, seven from hepatitis B and 31 patients from TB. Out of these 1034, around 564 hail from Larkana district.
As many as 549 positive cases are between 18-30 years age group, 277 from 31-40 years, 120 are 41-50 age, 30 between 51-60 years, ten 61-70 years, 32 below 18 years and 16 are children.
Meanwhile, sources complained that since Viral Load Test facility was not available at the center, poor patients have no choice but to undertake long journey to Karachi for undergoing this test.
