KARACHI: The Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM) recently hosted its 4th Annual Research Day, bringing together over 170 students, trainees, and faculty members to present groundbreaking research in dental science. The event featured a dynamic poster and podium competition, highlighting advancements in areas such as digital dentistry, geriatric dentistry, and evidence-based practices.

Participants from various universities showcased their work, with 35 researchers presenting to a distinguished jury and faculty members. In the poster competition, Shifa Ali from Bahria University Dental College secured the first position, while Maryum Abid from Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry earned the second spot. The podium competition saw Dr. Itrat Batool from Aga Khan University clinch first place, followed by Dr. Fatima Fouad Qureshi from AIDM in second place.

Winners were honored with trophies and cash prizes, underscoring AIDM's commitment to fostering innovation in dental medicine. The event received generous sponsorship from Platinum Pharmaceuticals and was orchestrated by the Research Development & Review Cell, led by Prof. Dr. Naseer Ahmed. His dedicated team, including Dr. Resham Nadeem and Dr. Beenish Fatima, along with numerous volunteers, ensured the day's success.

Esteemed attendees included Prof. Dr. Mohammad Altamash, President of AIDM; Dr. Shaheena Altamash; Prof. Dr. Ambreen Afzal, Counsellor CPSP; and Prof. Dr. Hasnain Sakrani, Principal of AIDM. In a special moment, Prof. Dr. Naseer Ahmed was awarded the Medal of Appreciation by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Altamash, recognizing his pivotal role in orchestrating the event.

AIDM's 4th Annual Research Day not only celebrated academic excellence but also emphasized the institute's dedication to advancing dental medicine through collaborative research and innovation.
