LAHORE: A comprehensive Basic Life Support (BLS) training workshop was successfully conducted at de’Montmorency College of Dentistry (DCD), strengthening emergency preparedness among future dental professionals through hands-on, practical learning.
The BLS training workshop at de’Montmorency College of Dentistry was organized in collaboration with the expert emergency response team of Rescue 1122, reflecting the institution’s continued commitment to patient safety, clinical readiness, and professional competence.
Hands-on emergency training for dental students
The workshop was attended by 1st Year BDS students and Postgraduate Residents, who actively participated in structured practical sessions designed to build confidence and competence in managing medical emergencies within clinical and hospital settings.
Participants received training in key life-saving areas, including:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) protocols
- Emergency response techniques
- Bleeding control and first aid management
- Fire safety and evacuation procedures
The training emphasized real-world scenarios commonly encountered in dental and hospital environments, ensuring relevance to daily clinical practice.
Academic supervision and institutional support
The workshop was conducted under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Shahzad, who ensured high instructional standards and effective skill-based learning throughout the session. His academic oversight contributed to the structured delivery and practical value of the training.
The session was held at Nawaz Sharif Hospital, DCD Yakki Gate Campus, providing participants with exposure to a clinical environment aligned with emergency response training objectives.
Collaboration with Rescue 1122 strengthens preparedness
The college administration extended sincere appreciation to Rescue 1122 for its dedicated support and professional expertise in enhancing the emergency readiness of dental students and residents.
Institutional representatives confirmed that the BLS workshop series will continue as a recurring training initiative, ensuring ongoing skill development and preparedness for future student batches.
The next BLS training session is scheduled for December 20, 2025, further reinforcing de’Montmorency College of Dentistry’s focus on patient safety and professional excellence.
