KARACHI- Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that his government has achieved another milestone by setting up a Forensic and Molecular Biology Laboratory for DNA testing.
He was speaking as chief guest while inaugurating a Forensic & Molecular Biology Laboratory for DNA Tests and Institute of Bio- Medical Technology at Liaquat University of Medical Health sciences LUMHS. The ceremony was held here at the CM House.
He said that this new laboratory will help the law-enforcement agencies in resolving complicated criminal cases as the DNA report which used to be prepared in weeks and month will now be compiled within 72 hours,”
“It is very important technology for identifying missing persons, unidentified bodies or in ascertaining the paternity dispute and, as such, it will not only ensure justice to the aggrieved parties, but will also help in curbing crimes, he added.
Earlier, LUMHS’ vice chancellor Prof (Dr) Noshad Shaikh highlighted the importance of DNA testing laboratory.
On this occasion, he also announced setting up of Bilawal Bhutto- Zardari Medical College.
The ceremony was attended, among others, by Sindh’s Senior Minister Nisar Khuhro, public-sector universities and educational boards’ Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, Sindh CM’s Secretary Alamuddin Bullo, senior members of medical fraternity and government officials.
