Dr. Aqsa Arif wins Gold Medal in MPhil Pharmacology at University of Lahore

LAHORE: Dr. Aqsa Arif has been awarded the Gold Medal in MPhil Pharmacology and named Best Postgraduate at the University of Lahore (UOL), marking a notable academic achievement in her postgraduate medical education.

The recognition highlights her academic performance, research commitment, and overall distinction during her MPhil studies. Dr. Aqsa described the award as a significant personal and professional milestone, expressing gratitude to her teachers, mentors, colleagues, and family for their support throughout her academic journey.

She especially acknowledged her supervisor, Dr. Khadija Mastoor, for her guidance and mentorship, and also thanked co-supervisor Dr. Naveed Mushtaq and Dr. Umar Ashraf for their academic support. She further credited Dr. Muhammad Hassan for his encouragement and role in her professional development.

Dr. Aqsa Arif has also previously received international recognition, including the IADR Hatton Award 2025 at the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) Pakistan Section for her research on plant-based therapeutic approaches for chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis.

Her research, conducted under the supervision of Dr. Khadija Mastoor at the University of Lahore’s College of Dentistry (UCMD), focused on alternative therapeutic strategies for managing oral complications in cancer patients.

Following her earlier recognition, she was selected to represent Pakistan at the IADR General Assembly 2026 in San Diego, United States. She has also secured admission and scholarship support for a postgraduate program in Regenerative Dentistry at the University of Michigan.

Her academic journey reflects continued engagement in research and a growing presence in international dental and biomedical science platforms.
