Dr. Awab Alvi stated that he is very excited to be elected as the “Digital Strategist” for the global governing body of dentists. The central Council of FDI is composed of FDI Presidents, President-Elect, Treasurer and 10 Councilors, each one elected by the General Assembly to serve as directors of FDI World Dental Federation

A bright young dentist from Pakistan - Dr. Awab Alvi has been elected as a Member - Standing Committee for Communications and Member Support, during the FDI Annual World Dental Congress 2013, held recently in Istanbul, Turkey. Dr. Awab Alvi is the son of Dr. Arif Alvi – a prominent Dental Surgeon, Member Pakistan National Assembly and Former Councilor of FDI.

On the occasion, Dr. Awab Alvi stated that he is very excited to be elected as the “Digital Strategist” for the global governing body of dentists. The central Council of FDI is composed of FDI Presidents, President-Elect, Treasurer and 10 Councilors, each one elected by the General Assembly to serve as directors of FDI World Dental Federation. The prestigious conference in Turkey was held between 28th- 31st August, and attracted a large number of delegates from numerous countries all around the world.

The Council nominees during the FDI 2013 Elections included; the President Elect - Dr Patrick Hescot from the Association Dentaire Française, along with the Councilors nominations of; Dr Kathleen Roth - American Dental Association, Dr Jack Cottrell - Canadian Dental Association, Prof. Dr Nermin Yamalik - Turkish Dental Association, Prof. Ihsane Benyahya - Association Marocaine de Prévention Bucco-dentaire (AMPBD), Dr Jun-Sik Moon - Korean Dental Association, Dr Mahmood Shah - Pakistan Dental Association, Prof. Amarsaikhan Bazar - Mongolian Dental Association and Dr Ashok Dhoble - Indian Dental Association
