KARACHI: Fatima Jinnah Dental College’s (FJDC) Fast Track Dental Clinics marked World Smile Day 2024 by conducting free dental check-ups of 50 ICP Pakistan employees and holding an oral health awareness session.
The event, marked with the theme “Do Something Kind. Help Someone Smile,” underscored the role of smiling not only as a source of happiness but also as beneficial for health, reducing stress and strengthening social bonds.
On the occasion, around 50 free dental checkups were provided to ICP Pakistan employees, highlighting the importance of oral health.
Led by Dr Sana Mateen, head of Fast Track Dental Clinics and a Consultant Dental Surgeon, the event was supported by experienced dental surgeons Dr. Muneeba Ashraf and Dr. Moiz Aftab.
Dr. Sana also conducted a session on dental hygiene, stressing the importance of regular check-ups and recent advancements in dentistry.
The session aimed to educate participants on preventive care, focusing on early detection of oral health issues like cavities and gum disease.
On the occasion, FJDC CEO Dr. Hussain Askary, who is also head of the community dentistry department of the college, said, “As we celebrate World Smile Day, we reiterate our commitment to restoring smiles and improving the well-being of our community. Every smile reflects health and happiness. I thank our team and partners for their dedication to making a positive impact. Together, we will continue promoting kindness, health, and brighter smiles.”
Dr. Askary’s message highlights the connection between oral health and happiness, affirming that a smile mirrors well-being.
This collaboration between Fast Track Dental Clinics and ICP Pakistan exemplifies the strength of community partnerships in promoting preventative health initiatives.
The participants were also provided educational materials on oral care, including proper brushing, flossing techniques, and dietary tips to support dental health.
Through these resources, Fast Track Dental Clinics hopes to empower individuals to maintain good oral hygiene and make informed health choices.
