KARACHI – Pakistan Red Crescent Society’s (PRCS) Sindh chapter has activated its disaster management mechanism by deploying Branch Disaster Response Teams (BDRT) in flood-affected areas of the province.
According to a press release issued by the PRCS-Sindh Branch, a 24/7 flood emergency control room has been set up at its provincial headquarters to monitor the flood situation.
Specialized emergency assessment teams, comprising staff and volunteers from the provincial HQ and district branches, will gather emergency information. PRCS-Sindh medical units such as mobile health units (MHUs) along with health staff are also on standby for possible deployment in the affected districts to facilitate medical interventions.
