LAHORE: The FMH College of Dentistry recently organized a high-impact, two-day FCPS Part II mock exam workshop in operative dentistry and endodontics, offering rigorous exam preparation for dental postgraduates across Pakistan. Designed to mirror the real FCPS examination environment, the workshop enhanced candidates’ readiness through hands-on clinical training, structured evaluations, and personalized expert feedback.

Comprehensive clinical preparation for FCPS aspirants

The workshop, curated by Professor Sarosh Ehsan and supported by a national panel of seasoned examiners, brought together participants from Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and other regions, underscoring the nationwide relevance of the event.

Day 1: Long case mock exam simulates real exam conditions

On the first day, 20 participants underwent a long case mock examination that tested their clinical reasoning, diagnostic precision, and decision-making skills. Evaluations were conducted by 10 senior FCPS examiners and 10 CPSP fellows. The format closely resembled the actual FCPS exam structure, ensuring that candidates gained meaningful insights into their strengths and areas for improvement.

Day 2: TOACS exam emphasizes practical clinical skills

The second day featured a Task-Oriented Assessment of Clinical Skills (TOACS) segment. Fifteen candidates rotated through 12 high-fidelity TOACS stations, each designed to assess essential procedural and communication skills. These stations were managed by expert fellows from top dental institutions in Lahore.

The session concluded with individualized feedback, reinforcing learning objectives and helping candidates build exam confidence.

Commitment to academic excellence and professional growth

This initiative reflects FMH College of Dentistry’s strong commitment to advancing postgraduate dental education in Pakistan. By providing such simulation-based training opportunities, the college continues to foster academic excellence and prepare dental professionals for high-stakes clinical evaluations like the FCPS Part II.
