University College of Dentistry workshop demonstrates All-on-4 implants

Well-known specialists and GDPs from different cities participated in it, along with young dental surgeons, house officers and postgraduate residents.

The session aimed to enlighten the dental community, be it GDPs, residents or specialists, about the latest concepts about All-on-4 implants.

Dr Muhammad Haseeb, Head of Periodontology Department UCMD, coordinated and facilitated the workshop. The session speakers were Dr Ceyhun Canpolat, Assistant Professor, Department of Prosthodontics, Yeditepe University, Turkey and Dr Noman Waris, an Implantologist and an MDS trainee at the University of Frankfurt, Germany.

The speakers highlighted the essential surgical and prosthodontic aspects of All-on-4 implants, including patient selection, treatment planning, immediate loading, impression technique and associated complications and solutions for All-on-4 prosthesis.

Hands-on surgical procedures and prosthodontic loading on simulated models followed the demonstration. The speakers also addressed the participant's queries.

Paulo Malo, a Portuguese dentist and a businessman developed the All-on-4 treatment concept with straight and angled multi-unit abutments to provide edentulous patients with an immediately loaded full-arch restoration with only four implants.

In the end, certificates were distributed, and Prof. Rehan Qamar, Principal Dental College, UCMD, appreciated Dr Muhammad Haseeb, Dr Arooj ul Hassan and all facilitators for making this workshop a success.
