Karachi: The Grand Endodontics Symposium was held here in Karachi at a local club which got an overwhelming response. The event with top notch speakers was a thunderous success with almost 360 participants attending the event. The event was organized with Pakistan Dental Association by Dental Tribune Pakistan.

The event started with the recitation from the Holy Quran followed by presentations by Dr Farhan Raza Khan from AKU on Endodontics in the big picture: RCTs in subjects needing multidisciplinary dental treatment, Prof. Dr Arshad Hassan Principal Dow Dental presented Canal shaping with Endo sequence, Presentation by Dr Shabaz Jat from DIKIOHS was on The Tortuous Path C – Canal . A challenge, Management of fear and anxiety! An endodontic perspective by Dr Talha M. Siddqui vice principal BDC, Instruments Separation by Dr Fazal Qazi from Dow and Surgical Endodontics- An update by Dr Farhan Khalid. This session was followed by lunch.

After the lunch, Dr Syed Abrar Ali gave a presentation on Possible, impossible, failure and success in Endodontics followed by Dr Salman Zafar’s The Development of Personal Protocols for Successful Endodontic Therapy and Dr Zahid Iqbal Biological based treatment modalities in contemporary endodontics. The last presentation of the day was by President PDA Karachi Dr Abu Baker Sheikh who spearheaded this academic activity. His presentation was Management of large periapical lesions.

The academic activity was headed by Dr Abu Baker and his team including Dr Murtaza Kazmi, Dr Abrar and Dr Mohd Ali. The team put together a very informative scientific programme for the event which was the prime reason for this events’ thunderous success. The audience which exceeded the anticipated numbers in spite of early morning rain in the city.

The event was attended by senior members of the dental fraternity with Dr Anwar Saeed, Dr Mazhar, Dr Saqib Rashid President PDA, Dr Mahmood Shah President PDA Sindh Zone, Dr Mumtaz Khan and Dr Irfan Qureshi.

The event also had a mini exhibition offering endodontic products at special prices which further benefited the participants.

Those who also spoke on the occasion included Dr Mumtaz Khan and Dr Mahmood Shah which was followed by vote of thanks by Dr Murtaza Kazmi.
