Hamdard University Dental Hospital excels at 6th LUMHS International Dental Conference

KARACHI: Hamdard University Dental Hospital demonstrated strong academic excellence at the 6th International Dental Conference hosted by Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), where its students and faculty actively participated in a wide range of scientific and competitive activities.

The university’s delegation competed in table clinic sessions, research poster presentations, quiz contests, and poster exhibitions, reflecting a vibrant culture of scholarship, discipline, and professional commitment within the institution.

A key achievement of the conference was the first prize secured by Hamdard University Dental Hospital students in the table clinic competition, showcasing their clinical expertise, originality in dental practice, and confident presentation skills.

Further recognition came for the Department of Operative Dentistry, whose residents won third prize in the research poster category, highlighting both the quality of their research work and their ability to communicate scientific findings effectively.

Faculty mentorship played a central role in these successes. Vice Principal Dr. Saima Asim served as a table clinic judge and supervisor. Dr. Shikoh Naz, Associate Professor in the Department of Community Dentistry, represented the institution as focal person and supervised table clinic and student poster presentations.

Dr. Mehwish Saquib, Head of the Department of Prosthodontics, supervised the quiz competition, while Dr. Fariha Irfan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Operative Dentistry, guided residents during the research poster presentations. Dr. Saba, Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Pathology, also participated in the conference and contributed to academic discussions.
