LUMHS inducts new BDS students in white coat ceremony at Jamshoro

JAMSHORO: Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences (LUMHS) formally welcomed its incoming Bachelor of Dental Surgery students for the 2025–26 academic year during a white coat ceremony and orientation programme held at Latif Hall, Faculty of Dentistry. The event marked the students’ transition from classroom learning to professional training in dentistry.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ikram Din Ujjan attended the ceremony as chief guest and congratulated the newly admitted students and their families on becoming part of a leading public sector medical university. In his remarks, he stressed that success in healthcare requires discipline, perseverance, and a strong sense of professional responsibility.

Dean Faculty of Dentistry Prof. Dr. Feroze Ali Kalhoro addressed the gathering by outlining the expanding role of dentistry in modern healthcare systems. He urged students to develop ethical values, maintain professional conduct, and remain committed to continuous learning throughout their studies and future careers.

University officials and heads of departments were introduced to the students to strengthen academic engagement from the outset. Faculty members joined the ceremony, creating an encouraging environment for the new batch as they begin their academic journey.

The programme concluded with messages of hope and motivation for the students, highlighting the white coat as a symbol of trust, service, and dedication to patient care, and reflecting LUMHS’s mission to produce competent and compassionate dental professionals for Pakistan’s healthcare system.
