LAHORE: The Pakistan Association of Orthodontists (PAO) recently hosted a educational pre-conference hands-on workshop focused on Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs), providing orthodontic professionals with an invaluable opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge in the latest advancements in orthodontic technology.

The first pre-conference workshop, held under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ilyas and his team, including Dr. Asmi Shaheen and Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Azeem, took place at the deMontmorency College of Dentistry. The event attracted an impressive turnout of orthodontists, dental residents, and specialists eager to explore the versatility and effectiveness of TADs in modern orthodontic treatment.

The workshop featured practical hands-on sessions where participants had the opportunity to work with various types of TADs, from mini-screws to plates, and gain insights into their applications for treating complex orthodontic cases. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ilyas, a renowned orthodontist, emphasized the significance of TADs in improving patient outcomes by reducing the need for extractions and shortening treatment times.

Throughout the session, attendees learned not only the techniques for using TADs, but also how to address potential challenges such as discomfort, failure to integrate, and patient-related issues. Experts shared real-world case studies, offering practical solutions and preventive strategies.

The pre-conference hands-on workshop was a resounding success, setting the stage for a broader dialogue on the evolving role of TADs in transforming orthodontic treatment. Participants left the session not only with enhanced practical skills but also with a renewed sense of excitement about the future possibilities TADs offer in orthodontics.
