KARACHI: Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM) successfully conducted an interactive Facebow Transfer Workshop for BDS students, designed to connect theoretical knowledge with clinical application in prosthodontics.

The workshop was led by Prof. Dr. Naseer Ahmed, Dr. Shuja Adil, and Dr. Huda Adil, who collectively brought their vast academic and clinical expertise to the session. It began with an insightful lecture highlighting the significance of facebow transfer in achieving accurate maxillomandibular relationships—a critical step in prosthodontic treatment planning.

Hands-on learning in prosthodontics

Following the lecture, participants observed a detailed live demonstration of the facebow transfer procedure, covering every stage from patient data recording to articulator mounting. The facilitators emphasized clinical precision, patient comfort, and the importance of anatomical alignment in achieving functional and esthetic outcomes.

Under expert guidance, students were then given the opportunity to perform hands-on facebow transfer exercises, allowing them to translate theory into practice. This experiential learning approach enhanced their confidence, clinical judgment, and prosthodontic competency—key components in modern dental education.

Commitment to clinical excellence and innovation

The workshop reflected AIDM’s ongoing commitment to evidence-based learning, innovation, and clinical excellence. By integrating workshops like these into the BDS curriculum, the institute continues to prepare future dental professionals to deliver precision-driven, patient-centered care.

Through its advanced teaching methodologies and expert mentorship, Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine reaffirms its reputation as one of Pakistan’s leading dental education institutions.
