BUDC organizes e-poster contest

KARACHI: The Department of Oral Pathology at Bahria University Dental College (BUDC, BUHSC) hosted an engaging e-poster competition recently under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Daud Mirza.

The event was organized by Dr. Afsheen Maqsood, Dr. Muhammad Shahrukh Khan Sadiq, and Dr. Saima Mazhar.

The contesting students work was judged by Prof. Dr. Kulsoom Fatima Rizvi, a PhD scholar from the Department of Community and Preventive Dentistry, and Dr. Arqam Najmi, Assistant Professor from the Department of Science of Dental Materials.

Ms Laveeza, a third-year BDS student, skillfully hosted the program, which began with a recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Durood-e-Sharif by Dr. Abdul Rehman, also a third-year student.

Six groups, each consisting of six members, participated in the competition. Each group had four minutes to present their posters, followed by a question-and-answer session with the judges.

As per the competition results, Group C’s presentation "Hypercementosis" prepared by Ahmad, Huzaifa, Adeena, Amber, Mahnoor, and Abdul Rehman, secured the first position. The second position was awarded to Group A, comprising Wajahat, Eimen, Emaan, Laiba Aamir, Zahra, and Taskeen, for their presentation on "Hypodontia." Group E, consisting of Maham, Nabeeha, Laveeza, Baynita, Laiba Batool, and Bilal, presented an e-poster on "Dentinogenesis Imperfecta", earning third position in the contest.

Prof. Dr. Daud Mirza presented certificates to the event's winners, judges, and organizers.

In her closing remarks, Prof. Dr. Kulsoom Fatima Rizvi commended the students and organizers for their dedication and expressed optimism for the future of such innovative activities within the institution.
