Capture & Chart: Hands-on dental photography workshop at DUHS

KARACHI: The Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), through its School of Dental Care Professionals, is set to organize an exclusive training session titled “Capture & Chart: Hands-On Workshop On Dental Photography” on Saturday, September 13, 2025. The event will be held at the PDC Hall, DIMC Building, Ojha Campus, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The workshop is designed to equip dental professionals, practicing dentists, researchers, and postgraduate students with the essential skills needed to master clinical dental photography. With a growing emphasis on documentation, diagnosis, and patient communication, high-quality dental photography is becoming an integral component of modern practice and research.

The guest speaker for the event is Dr. Muhammad Faizan (BDS, MSc Oral Implantology, University of Frankfurt), a renowned clinician, educator, and founder of the Vanguard School of Oral Implantology. With extensive national and international teaching experience, Dr. Faizan has conducted multiple hands-on training programs across Pakistan. His expertise lies in integrating dental photography into daily practice to enhance patient outcomes and academic research.

The workshop is directed by Prof. Dr. Ambrina Qureshi, Principal of the School of Dental Care Professionals, DUHS, and Chairperson of the Department of Community Dentistry. Under her leadership, the program aims to deliver a balance of theory and practical application.

Workshop objectives include:

  • Introducing the fundamental importance of clinical dental photography in diagnosis, research, and treatment planning.
  • Demonstrating equipment use and standardized techniques for capturing high-quality intraoral and extraoral images.
  • Providing hands-on practice and enhancing technical skills in dental photography.

According to DUHS, the target audience includes dental professionals, practicing clinicians, postgraduate trainees, dental researchers, and final-year dental students seeking to strengthen their clinical and academic photography skills.

This initiative reflects DUHS’s ongoing commitment to advancing dental education and professional development, reinforcing its position as a leader in healthcare training and innovation in Pakistan.
