KARACHI- The renowned Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon – Dr Humayun Kaleem Siddiqui, BDS, FCPS, has been promoted as the Head of Department, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Baqai Dental College in Karachi, where he will be heading a staff of twenty persons.

Dr. Humayun Kaleem Siddiqui is a highly qualified Surgeon with 14 years of extensive experience in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. Prior to joining the Baqai Dental College, he also worked at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and the Karachi Medical & Dental College.

His experience as a Specialist Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon, includes; temporo-mandibular joint, oncology and maxillofacial trauma. He completed a three years full-time training in oral and maxillofacial surgery, supervised by Professor Mahmood Haider. He worked as a Consultant at Baqai Dental Hospital, Fatima Hospital at Baqai Medical University at Memon Medical Institute Hospital, besides consulting at private dental practices like Maxfac Surgicals.

Over the years, he has been regularly delivering lectures on various subjects including Oral & Maxillofacial surgery, Oral pathology, Oral Medicine and other dental sciences. Besides, completing numerous professional courses, he has obtained OMS fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan.

Dr . Humayun Kaleem has also published six articles in local and international journals, besides organizing various sessions of Workshops on Basic Surgical Skills for House Officers, Senior House Officers and faculty. He has also been presenting scientific papers in different medical and dental symposia and played a key role in organizing numerous prestigious international conferences and seminars.

He actively participates in Dental Health and awareness programmes held at different schools and remote communities, besides conducting table clinics on oral surgery and operative dentistry. He was engaged as a team member in establishing histology museum and won second prize in drawings at Baqai Medical University. Dr. Humayun is a member of the Pakistan Dental Association and Pakistan Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons too.
