Dr Nabeel Baig elevated to CPSP research dept head

KARACHI: The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) has promoted Dr. Nabeel Baig, having over a decade-long research experience, to head of the Research Department.

Dr. Baig completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Fatima Jinnah Dental College (FJDC) in 2003 and earned a Master’s degree in Public Health from Baqai Medical University in 2011.

He was the first dental surgeon to be appointed as a research analyst at CPSP’s Research Department, a position he has held since 2011. Throughout his tenure, he has been instrumental in evaluating the synopses and dissertations of FCPS trainees, upholding the institution’s academic standards.

With 13 years of experience as an Executive Research Officer, Dr. Baig has developed expertise in medical research, particularly in the evaluation of research synopses and dissertations.

He also leads monthly medical writing workshops for FCPS trainees at CPSP’s regional centres, contributing significantly to the professional growth of future healthcare leaders.

Syed Hashim A Hasan, Editor of Dental News Pakistan, and Prof Ayyaz Ali Khan, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Pakistan Dental Association (JPDA), congratulated Dr. Baig on his promotion.

“Dr. Baig’s dedication to advancing dental research and his unwavering support for medical education are truly commendable. His appointment as Head of Research at CPSP is a well-deserved acknowledgment of his hard work and commitment,” they said in a joint statement.
