Emergency preparedness boosted at BDMC with hands-on BLS, fire safety training

MIRPURKHAS, SINDH: A comprehensive training session on Basic Life Support (BLS), fire-fighting, and emergency evacuation procedures was successfully conducted at Bhitai Dental and Medical College, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to safety, preparedness, and life-saving capacity building.

Organized under the expert guidance of the Sindh Rescue 1122 Team, the training provided hands-on learning experiences to faculty and staff, equipping them with essential emergency response skills, including CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), first aid, fire containment techniques, and coordinated evacuation drills.

The initiative aligns with the visionary leadership of the Honorable Managing Director, Dr. Ghulam Mustafa, whose goal is to embed excellence and safety in all aspects of academic and clinical operations.

Practical learning at the core

Every participant actively performed CPR techniques and engaged in a mock evacuation drill, ensuring the training went beyond theory into applicable, real-time skills development.

  • Emergency first aid response
  • Use of fire extinguishers and suppression tools
  • Safe evacuation protocols during fire or medical emergencies

This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to transform Bhitai Dental and Medical College into a model of healthcare education integrated with safety protocols, ensuring every stakeholder is capable of responding to crises with confidence, speed, and care.
