KARACHI: Fatima Jinnah Dental College (FJDC), in strategic collaboration with the American Board of Aesthetic Medicine & Surgery (ABAMS), recently concluded its Level 1 Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine, a 5-day CME-accredited training program aimed at upskilling MBBS and BDS doctors, postgraduates, and final-year students in evidence-based aesthetic practices.
With 50 credit hours and a curriculum built on global standards, the diploma combined clinical expertise, live patient-based procedures, and interactive modules led by a distinguished panel of international and national faculty. The initiative positioned FJDC at the forefront of aesthetic medicine education in Pakistan.
Comprehensive training delivered by global aesthetic experts
The program commenced with an intensive session on Botox and facial anatomy led by Dr. Fahad Usman, senior faculty at ABAMS and a renowned aesthetic physician. Participants practiced injection protocols, dosage techniques, and complication management, followed by supervised hands-on application.
The training gained further momentum with advanced thread lift techniques conducted by Dr. Islam Kassem, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon from Egypt and ABAMS senior faculty. Hosted at the state-of-the-art Shine Clinics – Skin & Teeth, this session enabled attendees to master thread types, placement depths, and patient selection under real clinical settings.
Next, participants engaged in detailed modules on dermal fillers with Dr. Sadaf Saeed (Plastic Surgeon, AARM - Pakistan) and Dr. Fahad Usman, where mid-face volumization, lip augmentation, and safety protocols were demonstrated on live patients.
Technological integration and regenerative aesthetics
Day four spotlighted energy-based devices, led by Dr. Andaleeb Khan, a dermatologist and faculty member of AARM – Pakistan. The session focused on laser applications for skin rejuvenation, emphasizing safety, efficacy, and clinical protocols.
The final day featured two power-packed modules:
- Dr. Nada Hassan introduced lipolytic injections and chemical peels, training participants in non-surgical facial contouring and skin brightening techniques.
- Dr. Nazia Bhurgri delivered a comprehensive overview of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy for hair and face, covering biological science, safety standards, and patient-based applications.
High-impact outcomes and future-forward learning
The program concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, where Dr. Hussain Askary (CEO & Head of Community Dentistry – FJDC) awarded CME-accredited diplomas to participants who completed the entire training. The event celebrated the academic achievement of the attendees and reinforced FJDC’s leadership in healthcare innovation and continuing medical education.
This diploma has set a new benchmark in aesthetic medicine education in the region, offering practitioners a globally recognized qualification and real-world skills that directly enhance patient care and professional growth.
