ABBOTTABAD: The Department of Community Dentistry at Women Dental College, Abbottabad, successfully organized a comprehensive school dental health program at The Educators School, Junior Campus, aimed at improving oral health awareness among children.

Under the supervision of Dr. Qurat-Ul-Ain, Associate Professor of Community Dentistry, the program focused on preventive dental care through interactive oral hygiene sessions and practical demonstrations.

A total of 470 students received free dental screening, where dentists identified common oral health issues and advised on preventive measures. The team demonstrated proper tooth brushing techniques and emphasized the importance of regular dental check-ups to maintain healthy teeth and gums.

In a special gesture to encourage children’s daily dental care routine, Colgate partnered with the college to provide goody packs containing toothbrushes, toothpaste, and educational materials to all participants.

The event was conducted by the dedicated faculty of the Community Dentistry Department along with enthusiastic 2nd-year BDS students, who ensured smooth organization and friendly interaction, making the experience enjoyable for children.

Speaking about the program’s impact, Dr. Qurat-Ul-Ain highlighted the importance of initiating oral health education at a young age:

“Good dental habits formed in childhood can prevent lifelong oral health problems. Through such outreach activities, we aim to make preventive dentistry an integral part of community health.”

The event concluded with a message of lifelong oral health, leaving students inspired to adopt healthy habits and regular dental visits as part of their routine.
