KARACHI: A comprehensive and informative lecture on complex cases in periodontology was recently conducted at Bahria University Medical and Dental College. Organized by the Department of Periodontology under the leadership of Dr. Farzeen Tanveer, the event featured distinguished guest speaker Dr. Ashar Jamelle, head of department and associate professor at Sir Syed College of Medical Sciences (Dental Section). The engaging presentation provided valuable insights into diagnosis, treatment planning, and problem-solving in periodontology.

The lecture, titled "Complex cases in periodontology," offered a detailed introduction to the nuances of diagnosing and treating periodontal diseases. Dr. Ashar Jamelle expertly walked the audience through a wide range of real-life cases, discussing challenges faced and solutions applied. His approach emphasized critical thinking, multidisciplinary planning, and evidence-based practices in managing complicated periodontal conditions.

Dr. Jamelle showcased a variety of complex cases that illustrated different stages of periodontal diseases, from aggressive periodontitis to advanced bone loss scenarios. Each case study was methodically presented with step-by-step diagnosis, clinical findings, radiographic interpretation, and customized treatment plans, offering attendees a complete learning experience.

The event attracted a diverse audience comprising third-year and final-year BDS students, demonstrators, and senior faculty members from Bahria Dental College. Their active participation and keen interest highlighted the importance of continuous education and clinical exposure in dental training.
