KARACHI: Bhitai Dental and Medical College (BDMC) has earned recognition at the provincial level after one of its house officers secured a top position in the Dental House Officers Olympiad 2026, a major academic competition involving participants from dental institutions across Sindh.
The Olympiad was held at LCMD Karachi on May 19 and 20 and brought together house officers from 19 dental colleges. The event was designed to assess participants’ clinical knowledge, academic capabilities, problem-solving skills, and professional aptitude in a competitive learning environment.
Representing BDMC, Dr. Faizan and Dr. Tehseen took part in the competition and competed against fellow house officers from institutions throughout the province.
Dr. Faizan achieved a notable distinction by securing third position overall, marking a significant achievement for both the young dental professional and the institution he represented.
Educational competitions such as the Dental House Officers Olympiad are increasingly viewed as important platforms for strengthening professional development among newly graduated dentists. They encourage participants to apply clinical knowledge, enhance decision-making abilities, and gain exposure to contemporary practices in dentistry.
The event also provided an opportunity for participants to interact with peers from different institutions, exchange academic experiences, and showcase their abilities in a province-wide setting.
BDMC officials congratulated both participants for representing the college with dedication and professionalism. They described Dr. Faizan’s achievement as a reflection of the hard work, commitment, and academic standards being promoted within the institution.
The accomplishment adds to the growing list of achievements by young dental professionals from BDMC and highlights the importance of academic excellence and continuous professional growth in modern dental education.
