KARACHI: The Department of Orthodontics, Bahria University Medical & Dental College (BUMDC) recently arranged a wire sculpture artwork competition that showcased final-year students’ artistic skills using wires.
The artwork was displayed to all faculty and students. This activity aimed to ingrain manual dexterity in students to increase their orthodontic wire work capabilities and equip them with an understanding of wire bending.
Dr Kulsum Rizvi, Vice Principal Dental College, BUMDC, Dr Ahmed Omer, Head of Dental Materials Department, BUMDC and Dr Shama Asghar, Head of Operative Dentistry Department, BUMDC, graded the students.
The chief guest, Vice Admiral (R) Khalid Amin HI (M), Director-General BUMDC and Dr Wahab Qadri, Principal Dental College, BUMDC, awarded the certificates to Ayesha Wahab, Sana Muhammad Sharif and Hamda Zafar as they secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively.
The event was a great success and received a lot of praise for the thoughtful intricacy and hard work that went into the artwork.
