KARACHI: Fatima Jinnah Dental College (FJDC) and Chiniot General Hospital (CGH) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a view to strengthen research collaborations, and expand healthcare services through training of students and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Mr Abdul Rauf Farouk, Chairman of the Finance Committee and Managing Trustee of CGH, alongside other trustees, including Mr SM Naseem, Prof. Muhammad Javed, and Mr Nadeem Ihsan. CGH's Managing Director Brig Dr Munir, and Deputy Managing Director Col Muhammad Aqeel were also present.
Dr Hussain Askary, Head of Community Dentistry and CEO of FJDC said this collaboration will enhance clinical exposure and training for FJDC's 3rd-year BDS students, ensuring the highest level of education and patient care. This hands-on experience will not only enrich their educational journey but also equip them for forthcoming healthcare challenges, he added.
Both organizations underscored their shared vision of serving the underprivileged, aligning philosophies and values. CGH's remarkable achievements, including providing free treatment to 1.3 million patients over 27 years, resonate with FJDC's commitment to "30 plus years of education par excellence" and "Behind a million smiles."
The signing of the MoU will facilitate FJDC's financial contribution to help improve the hospital's work and services.
Under the MoU both institutions will collaborate for healthcare delivery, research, and patient-centered care, besides making a lasting impact on academic brilliance of their students.
Dr Hussain Askary thanked CGH's management for their support and warm hospitality besides appreciating all those who contributed to the success of this event.
