KARACHI: The College of Dentistry at Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry (LCMD) successfully concluded its Annual Research Day 2025 with a vibrant prize distribution ceremony held recently. The event marked the culmination of a day dedicated to innovation, scientific curiosity, and advancing dental research in Pakistan.

Organized under the visionary leadership of Prof. Dr. Navid Rashid Qureshi (Principal) and Dr. Amna Rehman (Chairperson, Student Scientific Committee, undergraduate), the ceremony honored outstanding contributions from students and faculty across multiple categories.

Recognizing excellence in research

Students showcased their work in categories including synopsis, review article, and complete study article, with each winner receiving a cash prize. Golden categories such as social accountability, optical coherence, and innovative ideas were also celebrated, highlighting LCMD’s commitment to encouraging creativity and impactful research.

Prestigious awards inspire future researchers

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of two prestigious awards:

  • Best student group award: Laptop + gold medal (begum qamar zehra naqvi award)
  • Best faculty research award: Laptop + gold medal (begum riaz chishti award)

These awards reflect LCMD’s dedication to nurturing a research-driven culture that prepares future dentists to address real-world challenges and advance evidence-based practice.
