LCMD marks Oral Health Day with an engaging event

KARACH: Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry (LCMD) Principal Prof. Dr. Navid Rashid Qureshi stressed the need to raise awareness about oral cancer as the college observed World Oral Health Day on March 20th, 2024.

He was speaking at an event held to mark the day under the auspices of the LCMD Continuing Dental Education Committee, led by Prof Dr Uzma Zareef.

Prof Qureshi, highlighting the significance of oral health, said the occasion should be especially used to promote awareness about oral cancer.

Dr. Afshan Faizan hosted the event, also featuring a lively quiz competition, moderated by Dr. Rizwan and Dr. Maha, which engaged students from various academic years and house officers. Teams comprising students from 1st, 2nd, 3rd, final years, and house officers participated in the competition, including an interesting rapid-fire round.

The audience was also involved with thought-provoking questions, ensuring an engaging experience for them. Cash prizes were awarded to the winning team and the runner-up, along with gift hampers for the audience.

The event served as a wonderful platform to promote oral health awareness in a fun-filled atmosphere, contributing to the efforts aimed at encouraging better oral health practices among the community.
