RAWALPINDI: In a progressive step toward enhancing the quality of dental education, the Department of Medical Education at Margalla College of Dentistry, Rawalpindi, organized a two-day interactive workshop on teaching and learning methodologies. The workshop aimed to strengthen the pedagogical skills of faculty members from both Basic and Clinical Dental Sciences.
Renowned medical educationist Prof. Dr. Tahira Sadiq, Head of the Department of Community Medicine and Public Health at Bahria University College of Medicine, Islamabad, graced the event as the guest speaker and lead facilitator. Her sessions offered in-depth insights into interactive teaching methods, adult learning principles, and strategies to promote student engagement and academic performance.
“Effective teaching goes beyond lectures. It is about connecting with students, adapting to their learning styles, and making education a dynamic, two-way process,” stated Prof. Dr. Tahira Sadiq during her keynote.
Participants engaged in hands-on group activities, scenario-based discussions, and feedback-driven sessions that emphasized the importance of learner-centered education. The event fostered a collaborative academic environment where educators could reflect on their teaching practices and adopt evidence-based instructional tools.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Amjad Mehmood, Principal of Margalla College of Dentistry, presented the official college souvenir to Prof. Dr. Tahira Sadiq in appreciation of her valuable contribution.
This initiative underscores Margalla College of Dentistry’s commitment to faculty development, academic excellence, and continuous improvement in dental education standards in Pakistan.
